This short excerpt from the Declaration of Independence allows students to explore the ideals within the founding document. This resource is in Spanish.
This resource is intended for educators in the United States who are applying Spanish-language resources in the classroom.
- Sostenemos que estas verdades son evidentes (obvias), que todos los hombres son creados iguales, que son dotados por su Creador con ciertos Derechos inalienables (que no se pueden arrebatar), que entre ellos están la vida, la libertad y la búsqueda de la felicidad.
- — Que para asegurar estos derechos, se instituyen gobiernos entre los hombres, que derivan sus justos poderes del consentimiento de los gobernados.
- — Que siempre que una forma de gobierno resulte destructiva para estos fines, el pueblo tiene derecho a modificarla o abolirla, y a instituir un nuevo gobierno, fundándolo en los principios y organizando sus poderes en la forma que considere más adecuada para su seguridad y felicidad.
