Cleveland Stories
- A language arts teacher at Westlake High School in Ohio, Laura Miller created Stand Up, a video (that she uploaded permanently on the popular video hosting site YouTube) featuring participants at the Facing History seminar "Holocaust and Human Behavior," Facing History staff, and students at John Carroll University who answer the question, "What would you stand up for?" People responded passionately about human rights, genocide, faith, and their students.
- Cleveland, Ohio - "I was known as the class bully, taking my title so far that once I nearly broke a kid's arm," recalled Jonathan Lykes about his behavior in middle school. That changed when Jonathan took teacher Lori Eiler's Facing History class as a 9th grader at Shaw High School in East Cleveland.

Participating Schools
Facing History is incorporated into the curriculum in a variety of ways. It is taught in middle schools and in high schools; as an entire course, or infused into existing courses; as an elective, or as part of the core curriculum; in the social studies, in language arts, or as an interdisciplinary course. Facing History program associates work with teachers to help them use these materials in the most appropriate ways.
