About this event:
Multi-Session
Our multi-session professional learning series are designed for in-depth exploration of themes and topics that help educators strengthen their skills and competencies. Session information is included in the event details.
How do we talk about things that matter? Engaging in civil discourse means bringing your mind, heart, and conscience to reflective conversations on topics that matter, in ways that allow you to extend your understanding in dialogue with others. As we enter a presidential election year, we know that contentious issues can arise and affect our school cultures. In this workshop series, we will provide you with tools and techniques to prepare your students to engage in civil discourse and create a culture of Brave Space in your classroom.
Drawing from Jewish values, this webinar will explore the vital role of civil discourse in education. Delving into the importance of fostering respectful dialogue and critical thinking skills, we will discuss strategies for integrating civil discourse into your classrooms and nurturing an environment where diverse perspectives are valued. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights into promoting constructive dialogue and civic engagement among students.
This workshop is the first offering in the Jewish Values in Living Democracy: Supporting students through a polarizing election cycle series, intended for educators in Jewish settings.
